6/6...After a long night of parting to the MPC Summer Kickoff party, we faced a tough and quick ball moving Harvard Medical who beat us 2-1. The first goal came to Harvard Medical who beat the offside trap and was left 1 on 1 with the keeper who still got a piece, but hit off the post and rolled in. Milford hit the post 2 times in the following minutes with one off the keepers hands on a freekick to the crossbar, and the 2nd off the far post after run, both by Paul who had the chances. Harvard Medical almost made it 2-0 before the half on another one two passing with the goalie coming up big. Manny Goncalves made it 1-1 just before the half with Lou Gomes making a nice cross and Manny running on to it and putting past a diving keeper. With the weather getting hotter in the 2ndhalf both teams were end to end action with plenty of misses on both ends. Manny nearly made it 2-1 on a header just putting it over after the keeper made a big save. Harvard counter with runs down the middle and almost made it 2-1 also. With 10 minutes to go Harvard had a 3 on 2 down the middle to make it 2-1. Milford tried to get the equalized but the heat and Harvard defence just kept us in check. With the loss Milfordmoves to 3rd. More site updates later...

5/30... Another big win this week against the 1st place team 5-2 put us in a 3 way tie for first place with us holding the tie breaker to both teams. Milford got on the score sheet first with a nice ball in from Manny to Oscar who one touched it back to Joel at the top of the box the blasted to the left of the keeper who was flat footed for his 3rd goal of the season. Jason Silva made it 2-0 minutes later with a cross from Manny touching it past the keeper for his 1st goal of the season. Analog made it 2-1 before the half on a break away, and getting a rebound to get on the board. In the second half Paulo Tomas made it 3-1 with a nice finish for his 6th goal of season after Oscar made a nice run down the line into the box, and a nice behind the back side pass to Paul. Analog made it 3-2 a few minutes later on another break away having only 9 men the whole game. Alisson made it 4-2 for his 2nd goal of the season on a nice individual play faking out 2 defenders stepping left and blasting the ball far post. Joel made it 5-2 his 4th goal of the season in the final minutes on a nice outward bending cross from Manny on the right wing, with Joel finishing off with a header driven to the ground bouncing past the outstretched Analog keeper.

5/16....Big win this week the 1st place team 7-1. After being down early 0-1, and came back strong to make it 3-1 at halftime with goals from Rodrigo, Alisson, and Joel, with Gunners getting a red card at the 3rd goal. We added 4 more in the2nd hals with 2 from Sergio, and one from Manny and Oscar to finish out the rout.

 

4/18..... Another game, another win. This weekends game played at the new Fore Kicks II outdoor turf field was a hard fought win. The first goals scored was by Paulo Tomas on a nice diagonal run, with Igor Escaleira feeding the through ball, with Paul finishing with a powerful left footed shot to the top left corner of the goal. Oscar Barroso added a 2nd before the half coming in from the right wing and shooting low near post with the keeper unable to keep it out. The 2nd half was full on near misses for another goal with Sergio Braga, and Manny Goncalves trying to work various 1-2 passes, and Kenny Dafonte sending Manny down the wing on through balls, with Manny swinging crosses and shots in from of the net. The 3rd came off a nice pass from Alisson Dasilva curling a chip to Romulo Carvalho chest who took it down only to have the keeper save it, and also save Paulo's follow-up shot too, and the rebound coming to the top of the 18 and Matt Morais hitting a screaming one timer to score the 3rd for Milford. Milford now 2-0 will face FC Independence at Saturday April 25th at the Charlestown High School field. Video highlights below:

 

 

 

4/11..... Great and soggy game this past Saturday vs. Zoinks FC with Milford winning a hard fought battle with a final score of 4-2 to be at the top of the table.

Matt Morais got Milford on the board with a left footed shot at the top of the box is the first half to put them on top. With the score 1-0 at half Milford pushed harder has the rain turn sleeted increased and paid off when Louis Gomes was fouled in the box and converted from the spot to make it 2-0.  Paulo Tomas made it 3-0 with a shot from the left side just slipping past the outstretched Zoinks keeper. Zoinks got on the board making it 3-1 on a quick counter attack after Milford missed after the Zoinks keeper came up with another solid save. Zoinks got a 2nd goal on an incredible own goal by Igor Escaleira who slipped and miss hit the ball causing him to chip replacement goalie Romulo Carvalho who replaced Adadilson Pereira after an injury. Paulo Tomas finished the game off with a late second goal of the night from the right side just inside the box to put the final score at 4-2, and guarantee Milford 3 points.
